It’s that time of the year again and despite not being at the TT again this year…

It’s that time of the year again and despite not being at the TT again this year, I’ll do my best to keep my ear to the ground and keep those of you who care informed as much as I can.

Jay Lawrence Racing, Rob Satori (Rob Whittall) and Daniel Mettam Racing are representing NZ on the mountain course for 2019.

Unfortunately things did not get off to the best of starts for Daniel, he had an off at Black Hut (on the Mountain section at approx the 29th mile – see image below) on Sunday and has sustained back and leg injuries (we don’t have a direct line to Dan but we’ll keep you updated as much as we can). He’s currently recuperating at Nobles Hospital. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Dan. I’m gutted for you.

Jay’s first outing was (by the looks of his times) outstanding. Jay’s initial session was (as I understand it) done on borrowed machinery. His bike should have arrived by now (or will do very shortly). Fingers crossed for a good run for Jay.

Rob seems to have slotted nicely back into the process of lapping the Mountain course, and looks to be sitting solidly mid-field after his opening practice session.

Once again rain is affecting the island and it’s going to be a case of “get as many laps as you can” for practice week again this year (by the looks of it).

Mind you, give it five minutes and it might change again…

At the time of posting this, it’s 28th May at 3:30am on the Isle of Man. Practice is scheduled for today on the Island starting at 6:00pm local time (5:00 am 29th May – NZ time).

Cheers,

Cliff
